Free Keyword research tools ? are they worth it?

There are a great number of keyword and niche research tools on the market today and they vary in both price and effectiveness. In this article I want to take a look at three tools which are either fr5ee or offer a free trial.

The first and possibly most popular is the Google Keyword Tool which can be easily accessed by typing “keyword tool” into the Google search engine. You will have to key in a series of letters to show you are actually a human and you are then taken straight to the keyword search tool. You have the option of enter an exact, broad word or phrase into a box and after pressing “search “the  tool will then supply a selection of relevant keywords. There is also a guide to the competition for that word, Global and local searches and local search trends. It is a useful tool for initial keyword research.

The second is the service Wordtracker offers a free 7 day trial. Wordtracker has been around for a long time and provides a comprehensive keyword search facility. The basic trial is a restricted service and you are limited to the number of keywords can be generated. However, when you sign up for the 7 day trial there are a couple of useful bonuses such as an ebook and videos explaining how to use keywords. The full service also offers link building and  Strategizer  tools.

The final service is Market Samurai which is the newest of the three tools. It has been on the market now for about 18 months.

The complete program offers much more than just keyword research. Other features include rank tracking, competition analysis, content provision and site promotion. However, the trial version which can be accessed for free is basically their keyword research tool. This possibly contains more information offering details of SEO factors but also Adword traffic ands commerciality.

The advantage of Google Keyword tool is that it is totally free and can be used at any time. Wordtrackers trial only lasts for 7 days  and you must remember to cancel before the end of the 7 days if you do not want to automatically go onto their paid list. Market Samurai does not seem to have any limit on its trial but is obviously designed to attract you to its full service.

Which of the 3 tools you choose will really depend on how serious you are about keyword research . If you are serious about optimising your web site for traffic you may find that you will have to go beyond a free service. However they can be a very good starting point.

Money Keyword Research Tool – 5 Step System To Winning Money Keywords

Employing a money keyword research tool will save you a heap of time in sifting out those keywords which have a good chance of returning you a profit. But many marketers seem to get this vital stage of the study process wrong signing up for services which send them a bunch of keywords and then finding out there isn’t any product associated with it to create a campaign around. Or they spend a pile of time trying to find keywords and when they come up with a bunch that look good on paper, again, they find it difficult to attach it to a specific product. While you can still have success doing it this way doesn’t it make much more sense creating a service first and then doing your keyword research? In this article, let us take a look at a method that has served me extra well when starting a campaign from the start. There is work concerned but the thing you need to remember is that unless you get this primary product and keyword research right you’ll basically be throwing’mud up against a wall and hoping it sticks.’ Research Money Keywords- Establish your product first…whether you wish to promote a product from Clickbank or a service that is getting ready to launch, it makes good sense to find your vehicle first and then assemble your aresenal of keywords. Attempting to find keywords first and then the product or service means you are ‘stabbing in the dark’ and can spend nonessential time attempting to find a match up. – You need to be certain it is a market where money is being spent and there is a demand for the service. If it seems like a good product to push it will not do you much good if you don’t check the demand and find out you’ve wasted a large amount of time setting up the campaign. If there’s demand, avoid the favored keywords and look for those’nuggets of gold’ which suggest purpose and intention from the searcher. – Now could be the time to assemble your list of keywords. There are plenty of free keyword tools on the market and the best known is Google’s keyword tool. It gives you masses of information. You can search for your seed keyword and it isn’t important if it’s's broad or simply look at websites promoting the product and type the url into the Google search box. Gather as many keywords as you can. – Now it is time to filter the keywords and this is a stage that can actually take a heap of time. There are some great money keyword research tools on the market that do the job but they are dear. Start with the most promising information initially and work your way down till you find a likely candidate to optimize for. – When you have your principal keywords to push, check the competition. Do this by going directly to the 1st page that Google takes you to when searching for these words and take a look at the kind of sites noted on the first page. If there are several sites which are the main root domains avoid them because it’s likely the contest will be too difficult.

How to Conduct Keyword Research for Better Search Engine Optimization Process

Keywords research plays such vital role in the entire process of search engine optimization (SEO) that it cannot be ignored from the first stage of building a site/blog. You need it from the time when you register a domain name until you go out to promote your site. This will help your organic SEO ranking as well. When’s Day One in SEO Process? It’s when you start building up a site/blog. You know that the first step is to register a domain name. In most of the cases, your top keyword should be included in your domain name. It will show what the purpose of your site is. Also, search engines will notice the relevancy between your domain name and your content, links, etc. When I talk about your top keyword in your domain name, it means that you already know what your niche will be. Using a very broad keyword as your domain name (one-word keyword), IF it’s available at all, won’t help much. At the same, time, I don’t recommend a domain name containing a keyphrase consisting of 7 words. It should make sense and read easily. While choosing a domain name, make sure you don’t totally forget about the human readers! They are the ones that should remember your domain name.Keyword Research for Site Structure When you perform a thorough keyword research and register a domain name with the top keyword in it, it’s going to be the time to devise a site structure with its files and folders. When you’re building a blog, they’re called your post permalinks and categories. Of course, tags are the other factors that need to be considered. One sign of a search engine friendly site is the interwoven relevant web content crafted with SEO copywriting and saved into the files under similar categories and all containing site keywords in their names. Here’s an example: you have a travel website for an Island called “XYZ”. The folders (categories) you name: O About XYZ O XYZ Vacation Packages O XYZ Vacation Accommodations O XYZ Hotels O Souvenirs of XYZ O Local Cuisine in XYZ O XYZ Travel Tips O etc.

And you populate each folder with files having your more detailed keyphrases (longer ones). Organic SEO consultants suggest building up a cluster of related content linking to their most important keyword-rich folder (category). Setting a keyword strategy, you will know which key phrases are going to be your most important ones and what the main purpose of your web presence is. So, strategically speaking, the most important keywords that should help you achieve your goals should be closer to the root of your site. The second important ones should also be located in the first folders as subfolders.

Keyword Research Helps your Web Content Creation The initial keyword research you conduct should serve you as the roadmap toward building up your web content. The copy you write for each page (post) should follow the keyword basket you’ve set at the beginning. You should write several pages to gain higher search engine ranking and better organic SEO results. Keyword-rich content and site/blog shows how much you’ve narrowed down your attention to one topic. It defines your niche and helps you achieve your goals much faster. The role of internal linking structure shouldn’t be underestimated. Your keywords should be present in the links you build in your webpages. Are you connecting your web content to other contents of your site using links? It’s very good if you do so. Just remember that you’re supposed to use your keywords in the link text too. This will add to the organic SEO results you’ll gain in search engines. Keyword Research Determines Your Inbound Link Building Campaigns You’ve made a keyword basket that is used to plan various campaigns in your online marketing efforts. When it comes to get links from other sites through article marketing, press release marketing or social media bookmarking, like in internal linking structure, you should make sure you use your keywords in the text of the inbound links. You can increase search engine ranking dramatically with this practice over a period of time of online marketing.Final Word on Keyword Research As you’ve noticed it’s highly important to perform keyword research to have a clear insight about what your site/blog is going to be about from the day one. You should stick to the result you gain and produce SEO copywritten content for the keyword basket you’ve created both inside your site and outside it. This shouldn’t be forgotten that keyword research should be updated from time to time as Internet searchers use different terms to look for your content. Some stay as they are while others may change. You should create new content for the new search terms you discover through repeated keyword research. By monitoring your site’s traffic and highly successful keywords in your analytical methods, you’ll know which ones are more popular and bring real business to your site. You check your search engine ranking for them. If you need more enhancement, put more efforts on them. On the other hand, there are some other ones that require you to create more web content inside your site and outside it in form of articles, press releases, bookmarks, and participation in blogs, forums and social communities. Spend more time for them as well. The organic SEO results you’ll gain will be worth it. Search engine ranking isn’t gained and retained easily. You should work on it and implement right strategies to get to the predestined goals you’ve planned for your site/blog.

Advantages Of Using Paid Keyword Research Tools In Keyword Research

In the area of keyword research, although there are dozens upon dozens of free keyword research tools that are out there on the internet, there are a number of reasons why using paid keyword research tools are a much better alternative than simply using these free tools. The advantages of using paid keyword research tools in keyword research lie mainly in 3 areas : (1) Paid-Per-Click (PPC) management, (2) Search Engine Optimization (SEO) management and (3) Discovering new keyword trends without the need for doing extensive research.

The first main advantage is in the area of PPC management. PPC management not only helps you to optimize PPC bids and different keyword types, but will also allow you to analyze your competitor’s use of those profitable keywords that are helping them get the traffic they need. In such a situation, paid keyword research tools are like spies helping you to generate more targeted traffic by noticing those keywords that your competitors are using the most.

Another advantage of paid keyword research tools is in the area of SEO management. SEO management not only shows you how your keywords are performing, but also provides you insights on how to optimize your website so as to get much higher rankings in the search engines compared to your competitors. Getting higher rankings in the search engines ensures that visitors find you easily when they type specific keywords related to your product or service, which in turn will help you get more targeted traffic to your website. As SEO is one of the most effective ways to get free targeted traffic naturally to any website, it definitely makes sense to invest in a paid keyword research tool that has such capabilities.

A third advantage that paid keyword research tools have is the ability to discover new keyword trends without having you  do the research over and over again. This feature allows you to find out the latest and hottest keywords that people are actually using right now on the internet, giving you the edge over your competition  when it comes to getting such people to visit your website. Furthermore, some of these tools also allow you to uncover the most profitable niches or micro-niches out there based on certain keywords, thereby allowing you to drill down and generate huge profits in those niches or micro-niches. This is one key feature that other free keyword research tools out there are simply unable to provide.

As a result of the 3 main advantages outlined above, it makes sense that any serious online marketer who wants to maintain an edge over his competition should consider investing in good paid keyword research tools, over the dozens of other free versions that are out there on the web. At the end of the day, such investments will reap good returns for the online marketer in terms of getting higher search rankings, more targeted traffic & greater online profits.
